Clear out your wardrobe as Australian fashion label AJE has just launched its first ever activewear range, ATHLETICA.
If you’re keen to soak up the lavish surroundings of Room 81, make sure to stop in for Apéro Chic. Described as ‘a time in the early evening reserved for relaxing, catching up with friends and indulging in drinks, canapes, cold cuts and cheeses’, this sipping and snacking session runs from 4:00–6:00 pm from Tuesday to Saturday. The best bit? You can score $2 oysters as you while away until dusk with wine and cocktails.
If you cannot resist an all-you-can-eat feast, go ahead and rally your crew for the dinner buffet at Southport Sharks. Slip into a food coma of the best kind with an impossible-to-resist dinner buffet for just $37.90 per person (members pricing, $47.90 for non-members). The bottomless buffet is available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night from 5:30 pm where you can munch on as much margherita and Hawaiian pizza as you can handle before moving on to plates piled high with lasagne, beefy bolognese, creamy seafood laksa, saucy Singapore noodles, flavoursome curries, and steamed reef fish, alongside succulent roast meats, summer salads and decadent desserts. Just when you thought this smorgasbord couldn’t be more appetising – kids eat free every Monday night with every paying adult! From Thursday to Sunday, Frenzy’s buffet ups the ante once more to add a mouth-watering array of seafood dishes including fresh prawns and mountains of mussels. Acclaimed Australian artist Donna Marcus is taking art-loving audiences on a journey through time and matter with her latest exhibition, Radiate, which is on display at HOTA Gallery from December 9 to April 28, 2024. Showcasing Donna’s unparalleled ability to turn discarded materials into radiant works of art, the exhibition features 30 captivating pieces of existing and new works, including sculpture, LED-backlit assemblage wall artworks, porcelain sculptures, vitreous enamel work and framed paintings, which grace the walls of the HOTA’s level four gallery space. Known for collections of discarded aluminium kitchenware, Donna recalls and extends the original uses of these materials through the process of assemblage, drawing on the qualities of aluminium, Bakelite, vitreous enamel and ceramics. These modest objects, collected over time, are transformed into uncanny layers and create a radiant interplay of time. Radiate by Donna Marcus is on display at the HOTA Gallery until April 28, 2024.
